Scared of Hindu anger, Rahul Gandhi is contesting from Minority dominated Wayanad: PM Modi

Prime Minister Modi said the Congress-NCP alliance government termed “peace-loving” Hindu community as terrorists.

Wardha, Maharashtra| Kick-starting BJP’s campaign in the state of Maharashtra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi trained guns at the Congress-NCP alliance labelling them as “Kumbhakarna”. He was addressing a rally in Wardha. Modi said, “When they are in power, they sleep for 6 months. After six months, one of them wakes up, loots public money and goes back to sleep.”

PM Modi began his address by congratulating the scientists of ISRO for the successful launch of PSLV C-45/EMISAT. PM Modi said that earlier such important feats were only reserved for a certain section of people but today every common man can see it.

The BJP is in alliance with its long-term ally Shivsena in Maharashtra. The Sena-BJP ‘Yuti’ is fighting against the Congress-NCP front. Taking a dig at the opposition alliance, PM Modi said that Congress-NCP leaders may not sleep well looking at the huge turnout at his rally.

He further said that the Congress-NCP alliance has looted Maharashtra. Talking about Sharad Pawar-NCP chief, PM Modi said that Pawar knows which direction the wind is blowing. “There was a time when Sharad Pawarji thought that he could also become prime minister. He also declared that they would contest these elections. But, suddenly, one day, he said I am happy to be here in the Rajya Sabha, I will not contest elections. They also know which side the wind is on,” PM Modi quipped.

He further targetted NCP’s ruling Pawar family saying that internal tussle is going on in the family. He said that Sharad Pawar is slowly losing control of the party and his nephew (Ajit Pawar) is taking over. “This is why the NCP is also facing a problem in ticket sharing,” PM Modi claimed.

He also invoked Ajit Pawar’s infamous comment over the low water level in dams after a severe drought. Accusing Pawar of ignoring the farmers’ interest, Modi said, “Sharad Pawar, despite being a farmer himself, forgot the farmers, forgot their concerns. How many farmers were forced to commit suicide during his tenure but Pawar did not care?”

PM Modi said Congress- NCP alliance can go to any level for “vote-bank” politics. He said the party termed “peace-loving” Hindu community as terrorists. The Prime Minister said those who were labelled terrorists (Hindu community) by Congress has woked up now. “That is why he (Rahul Gandhi) has been forced to flee from the majority constituency and seek refuge in the seat dominated by a minority.

PM Modi was referring to the decision of Congress President Rahul Gandhi of contesting from Wayanad in Kerala. On Sunday, senior Congress leader AK Antony announced that Rahul Gandhi will contest from two seats- Amethi in Uttar Pradesh and Wayanad in Kerala. Wayanad which is a tri-junction of three states of the south has been Congress bastion since years.
