Shashi Tharoor filed criminal complaint against Ravi Shankar Prasad for defamatory remarks against him

Thiruvananthapuram | Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has filed a criminal complaint against Union Minister and BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad in the Thiruvananthapuram court.

The former Union Minister has filed the complaint against Prasad for allegedly making defamatory remarks against him while responding to one of his statement. Ravi Shankar Prasad during a press conference over Shashi Tharoor statement had said, “Shashi Tharoor who is accused in a murder case has attempted to disrespect Lord Shiva.”

Speaking at the Bangalore Literature Festival Congress leader Shashi Tharoor sparked controversy when he claimed that BJP’s political ideologue Rashtriya Syamsevak Sangh (RSS) considers Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a ‘Scorpion on a Shivling’. Tharoor said, ”There’s an extraordinarily striking metaphor expressed by an unnamed RSS source to a journalist, that, “Modi is like a scorpion sitting on a Shivling, you can’t remove him with your hand & you cannot hit it with a chappal either.”
