Uttar Pradesh BJP MLA wants Sultanpur to be renamed as ‘Kushbhawanpur’

Lucknow | After the names of two historic cities in Uttar Pradesh were renamed, a Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from the state wants the name Sultanpur to be renamed as ‘Kushbhawanpur’.

Speaking to media, BJP MLA Devmani Dwivedi from Sultanpur district said,” I want Sultanpur should be again called as Kushbhawanpur. It was named Sultanpur by the Khilji dynasty. This history is mentioned in ‘Raghuvansh Mahakavya’ and even in Gazetteer of Sultanpur.”

Uttar Pradesh Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on occasion of “Deepotsav” on Diwali eve had announced that city of Faizabad will be known as ‘Ayodhya’. Earlier the government of Uttar Pradesh had issued a notification dated October 18, 2018, by which the name of Allahabad district was changed as Prayagraj.
