Suresh Joshi said that people have to understand the government first. “Whether RSS supports BJP is insignificant.”
The Ram Mandir construction issue doesn’t seem to die down soon. The recently re-elected RSS General Secretary Suresh Joshi has once again asserted that it is definite that nothing other than ram temple will be constructed at the site. However, he quickly added that for this, the process has to be followed.
Expressing faith on the Supreme Court of India, Suresh Joshi said that it is definite that only Ram Temple will be built at the site. He said, “Currently, title ownership case is being heard by the Supreme Court. It will soon be resolved.”
Joshi who was talking to reporters on Sunday also talked about the recent surge in incidents of damaging the statues across the country. Suresh Joshi said that his organization does not approve such incidents. He further added, “Such acts of damaging and pulling down statues are done by ‘anti-social elements’.”
When asked about vandalising of Lenin’s statue in Tripura just two days after BJP’s historic win in the state, Joshi said that RSS has always condemned such incidents. He clarified that RSS had also in the past condemned acts where churches were attacked. “When there is an atmosphere of conflict and confusion, such elements become active,” Joshi claimed.
The Ram Mandir construction is one of the long-standing issues in front of the current Modi government. While efforts are being made to settle the disputes outside the court, The Supreme Court during hearing has cleared that it would treat the case purely as a “Land Dispute”.
Talking about the credit being given to the RSS for the recent Tripura win of BJP, Joshi said that the victory or defeat of any party or organization is because of the party’s own strengths and pitfalls. He said, “The RSS has been growing in the country even before 2014. It is not that because of RSS BJP won in Tripura.”
Replying to RSS support to BJP in 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Joshi said, “Whether Sangh Parivar backs BJP in 2019 election is insignificant. It is the people who have to understand the government.”
