PMNRF Funds Diverted To Rajiv Gandhi Foundation: JP Nadda Alleges

Nadda Said, “It is not only fraudulent to divert the funds of PMNRF to a family foundation, but it is also a fraud to the people of the country.”

New Delhi| The debate on the issue of China in the Congress-BJP has now mired in the allegations of dynasty and corruption. BJP President JP Nadda has targeted the Gandhi family for the second consecutive day. He said that during UPA rule, the money of the Prime Minister National Relief Fund (PMNRF) was given to the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation (RGF). Sonia Gandhi was also on the board of the PMNRF and was also the chairperson of the RGF.

‘Relief fund money was to help the needy’

Nadda tweeted that the people of the country had donated their hard earned money in PMNRF, so that people can be helped in times of need. It is not only fraudulent to divert the funds of PMNRF to a family foundation, but it is also a fraud to the people of the country.

‘Congress dynasty should apologize’

Nadda has said that due to a family’s hunger for wealth, the country suffered a great loss. The Congress dynasty should apologize for this unabashed robbery for its own benefit.

Earlier on Thursday, the BJP president said that in 2005-06, the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation received $ 3 lakh (then Rs 90 lakh) from China. In return, the Foundation conducted a study promoting free trade with China. The Foundation is headed by Sonia Gandhi. Whereas, apart from former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and P. Chidambaram are trustees. The Congress retaliated by saying that the government should stop living in 2005 and answer the 2020 questions.
