Congress,BJP confident ahead of Karnataka assembly floor test

Bengaluru: Ahead of the crucial Karnataka assembly floor test at 4 p.m today, both Congress and BJP are confident of winning the floor test.

Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said that BJP doesn’t have the numbers, we will win the floor test. BJP is just trying to prove their majority & they will fail to do so.

While Ghulam Nabi Azad alleged that the numbers are against BJP.” Numbers are in favor of us. MLAs are in our favour. We will form the govt:” added Azad

The Bhartiya Janta Party had its own claim before the floor test, “Wait till 4.30 pm. We will win and BS Yeddyurappa will be the CM for 5 years,” Former Karnataka Cm, and Bjp leader Sadananda Gowda told the reporters.

Union Minister Ananth Kumar accused the Congress and JDS alliance of an unholy alliance.”They are going to be rejected, people are going to reject them” added the BJP leader.

Meanwhile, CM BS Yeddyurappa seemed confident, talking to the media, Yeddyurappa said “100% I am going to have an absolute majority. Tomorrow I am going to take all that decision which I promised to the people of Karnataka.”

The Supreme Court bench on Friday ordered for an immediate floor test in the Karnataka assembly till 4 p.m on Saturday after hearing the petition filed by Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) against the decision of Governor Vajubhai Vala for allowing CM Yeddyurappa a 15 day time period to prove majority.

Earlier the BJP emerged as a single largest party with 104 MLAs in the recently concluded assembly election but fell short of the halfway mark of 112 by seven MLAs. The Congress extended its support to JD(S) after the result with 115 MLAs and staked claim to form the government.
