Yuva sena leaders like Varun Sardesai, Rahul Kanal, Amol Kirtikar and others were interfering in the day to day functioning of the government, the source said.
In a major political development in Maharashtra, minister and top Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde has reportedly moved to Meridian hotel in Surat in BJP-ruled Gujarat with 21 other MLAs. The move is supposed to shake the foundation of the MVA government in the state.
However, according to source in Shiv Sena, the dissatisfaction was brewing in the Mumbai-based party for a while now. Close aid of one Maharashtra minister, who belongs to Shiv Sena, told HW News that one of the major reason behind this rebellion is Yuva Sena, the youth wing of the party, led by Uddhav Thackeray’s son and Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray.
Naming Yuva sena leaders like Varun Sardesai, Rahul Kanal, Amol Kirtikar and others, the source said these young guns and close aides of Thackeray Junior were interfering in the day to day functioning of the government, despite not being a part of the government. The situation was such that these leaders were giving orders to bureaucrats, including the BMC commissioner.
Many MLAs, according to the source, were unhappy with the high handedness of these Yuva Sena leaders, and Uddhav Thackeray’s silence over the same. The source said that these young leaders are not even capable of getting a corporator elected on their own, but were interfering in functioning of the government.
The source also cited MLAs dissatisfaction over unavailability of CM Uddhav Thackeray. People close to Uddhav Thackeray did not let MLAs meet the CM, citing Thackeray was busy or not at his residence, despite him being there, the source said. Thackeray was not reachable even when the MLAs were trying to convey their unhappiness about the issues over which the rebellion has took place, the source said.
The source also stated that not 35-40, but around 13-15 MLAs are with Eknath Shinde, with whom communication has been established by Shiv Sena. Some of the MLAs were taken forcefully and they want to return back, the source said, citing example of Prakash Surve, who returned at midnight.
